This drive is part of the Governor's State Employee Annual Food Drive. I am coordinating the event this year with the help of our hispanic club, La Raza. This is the first year the event has been coordinated and facilitated by students. I will be creating a manual with step by step instructions on coordinating and running the drive. By integrating the liberal arts and the professions, EOU educates committed professionals, informed citizens, and lifelong learners.

Set in a beautiful mountain valley in the unique region of Eastern Oregon, EOU is strongly committed to serving the educational, cultural, and research needs of its place. EOU is also engaged in the wider world as part of a global community that values open inquiry, creative expression, analytic thought, and service to others.

As the “the small college option" within the Oregon University System, and a liberal arts institution, EOU teaches students as individuals, though educational experiences including research, community service learning, internships or mentoring, and intercultural learning. Attracting a culturally diverse student body of varying ages and experiences, EOU draws its campus population primarily from Oregon, other states and Pacific Rim countries, while our distance student body comes from the United States and Canada. EOU offers campus and distance baccalaureate degrees in the liberal arts, education and business, as well as cooperative degrees in agriculture, nursing and fire services administration, and a master’s degree in teacher education.

Its Mission

The mission of EOU is to help each student become an engaged citizen with an ethic of service who learns through all aspects of life.

Our Values

We strive to fulfill this mission through the practice of shared values. EOU is particularly dedicated to:

A liberal arts tradition that encourages students to become creative, critical thinkers and knowledgeable, engaged citizens, open to new ways of looking at the world;

Professional and pre-professional programs, supported by the liberal arts, that prepare students for important work in the world;

Interdisciplinary and integrative learning, through which students explore and apply relationships among disciplines, concepts, and areas of study;

The creation of knowledge through scholarly pursuits;

Collaborations and partnerships with other colleges and universities; public schools; and international, national, regional, and local institutions and agencies that add to the possibilities of our place;

Collegial relationships and respect for diverse views among faculty, staff, students, and community, befitting an environment of mutual, and perpetual, learning;

And a more equitable, just and informed world.

Welcome to the Cornerblog, emanating from the Grande Ronde Valley, coming to you through the light.

This is where inquiry, experience, and service meet, for people who live their questions.
